Meditation retreat center of Becske
Becske has always been a place of joyful yogis, limitless freedom and deep friendships. It is a meeting point for our Kagyu Family, a national retreat center, and a site for international courses as well.
We bought the first piece of land in 1997 according to Lama Ole’s wishes. Since then our activity has been continous and the number of our members increasing, which made it possible to grow and develop the place over years. What we have today is:

We bought the first piece of land in 1997 according to Lama Ole’s wishes. Since then our activity has been continous and the number of our members increasing, which made it possible to grow and develop the place over years. What we have today is:
- 50 hectars of land with a kitchen building and outdoor bathrooms enabling us to host thousands of practitioners during our summer courses,
- the Marpa-house, a 500 sq meter building with a gompa for 150 people,
- the Lama-houses, two houses for individual or small groups retreats,
- a Stupa of Enlightenment.
We have hosted an international course every year, since 1998. Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche, the 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, Lama Ole and Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche have taught here.
In 2008 we built a Stupa of Enlightenment next to the center, on the Snail-hill, with the guidance of Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche and a lot of help from Hamburg. (Thank you Hamburg!)
The stupa can be visited throughout the year.

Regular programs in Becske
- Ngondro weekends – every third weekend of the month.
- Becske Friends’ weekend – every first weekend of the month. During these weekends we meditate together, maintain and build our center.
- 8th Karmapa weekends – every other month.
- Diamond Mind weekends – every other month.
- 8th Karmapa retreat – annually.
- Small Becske course – twice a year, in spring and fall.
- Family week – annually during the summer.
B52 project
In 2002, we decided to share the role of caretaker among several friends throughout the year so that there would always be someone present on site. Every host comes for one week. 52 weeks in a year means that there are 52 Becske hosts – that is the B52 project.

Even though we now have residents in the center, Lama Ole asked us to continue this activity.
