We are Diamond Way Buddhist Canter based in San Diego, California. The group belongs to the international network of over 800 meditation centers in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The centers were founded and are directed by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of the 16th Karmapa. Currently they are under spiritual guidance of the 17th Karmapa, Thaye Dorje. In the United States there are 28 centers which are located in major cities. They operate under Diamond Way Buddhist Centers USA, which is a non-profit religious organization. There is relaxed social atmosphere in the centers, refreshments are provided, and questions encouraged. The activities of the center include formal teachings, meditation instructions, and retreats. Weekly meditations are open to the public and are free of charge. The main meditation practice in our centers is Guru Yoga on the 16th Karmapa. The meditation is guided in English.
