Welcome,

We are a Diamond Way Buddhist group based in San Diego, California.

The group belongs to an international network of over 400 meditation centers in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The centers were founded and are directed by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of H.H. the 16th Karmapa. They are now under the spiritual guidance of H.H. the 17th Karmapa, Thaye Dorje.

In the United States there are 28 centers which are located in the major cities. They operate under Diamond Way Buddhist Centers USA, which is a non-profit religious organization.

The main meditation practice in our centers is Guru Yoga on the 16th Karmapa. The meditation is guided in English and involves visualization and mantra recitation.

There is a relaxed social atmosphere in the centers, refreshments are provided, and questions encouraged. The activities include teachings, group readings, and dharma video viewing. The weekly meditation evenings are open to the public and are free of charge.
