If one’s teacher is dependable, the most practiced meditation in the west today, Guru Yoga, contains the broadest contact to enlightenment.
A specialty of the Karma Kagyu Lineage, it is called “Lami Naljor” in Tibetan and “Guru Yoga” in Sanskrit, and also includes the ways of method and insight. Though it was less available in Tibet, Guru Yoga is the quickest shortcut to enlightenment for those who can use it.
By permitting the use of even the most everyday situations to recognize the perfect nature of the here and now, it activates all qualities of the student.

The Way Things Are

The Karmapa Meditation, as Guru Yoga Mediation on the 16th Karmapa is often called, is a great way to get in touch with Diamond Way Buddhism. The Karmapa, his name means “man of action” is the highest lama in the Karma Kagyu Lineage. We meditate on him not as a man, but as an expression of our own Buddha nature. This meditation was given by the 16th Karmapa especially for practitioners in the west and is one of the core meditations practiced at Diamond Way Buddhist Centers.
No prior experience is required. The meditation runs about 30 minutes
The meditation is available in booklet form at our center. |
