Change to Meditation Schedule in 2008
In order to be consistent with Diamond Way Buddhist Centers around the world, we will be changing our public meditation schedule in 2008. New people are welcome at any time.
Current schedule (2007)
Sundays 6:00 pm - short lecture followed by meditation
Tuesdays 7:00 pm - short lecture followed by meditation
Wednesdays 8:30 pm - short lecture followed by meditation
Open House on the first Sunday of the month at 5 pm
New schedule (begins Jan. 1, 2008)
Sundays 5:45 short lecture, 6:00 meditation
Tuesdays 7:45 short lecture, 8:00 meditation
Wednesdays 7:45 short lecture, 8:00 meditation
Open House will remain on the first Sunday of the month at 5:00 pm.
Diamond Way Buddhist Centers around the world meditate at 8 pm, and offer the lecture just beforehand for those who are interested. We have kept our Sundays at the earlier time to accommodate parents who need to get their kids to bed. We hope to see you soon at public meditation!
New Year's Meditation Retreat in Minneapolis
For the 7th annual meditation retreat in the Midwest, we are happy to welcome travelling teachers Eric Gibson of Minneapolis and John Christopherson of Madison. Both Eric and John have been appointed by Lama Ole Nydahl to share the teachings of the Buddha, and they do so in a modern and practical style. Both are lay people who incorporate the ancient wisdom of Buddhism into their daily lives. This retreat is a great introduction to Buddhism, and you are welcome to attend as much or as little of the retreat as you like. A tentative schedule is as follows:

Retreat Details
The cost for the retreat is $65 for the entire long weekend, or $10 per lecture and $5 per meal. The money pays for our food and the travel expenses of our teachers. Any profit goes into the account of the Diamond Way Buddhist Center and is used to pay for our meditation space and to host future events.
