1. Can I attend this course if I am brand new to Buddhism?
Of course! We'd love to have you.
2. Where can I find out more about Diamond Way Buddhism or Lama Ole Nydahl before coming?
Check out our national website or our international website and look to see if there's a center near you.
3. What do I need to bring?
Bring a meditation cushion. You also may want to bring a swimsuit to enjoy the swimming pool or hot tub. All housing options include bedding, a pillow, and towels. If you are not from around here: the weather can be unpredictable in Central Texas in late November. The average temperature is about 60 degrees Fahrenheit, but temperatures can range from just above freezing to the 80s Fahrenheit, so before you pack your bag, check the forecast and pack accordingly.
4. Will there be Spanish translation?
Yes, we will have simultaneous translation into Spanish available,
but you will need to bring your own radio and headphones. Please
indicate on your registration form if you will need Spanish
translation.
5. Will there be childcare?
A childcare room will be available nearby to the gompa with live streaming of the course. The room will be available to parents for all sessions of the course. Practitioners in the past have had good success with taking turns and using the live streaming to keep abreast of what is happening in the gompa when they are on "baby duty." Parents may choose to form a cooperative to watch each other's children. The childcare room will have toys, art supplies, snacks, changing table, and age appropriate movies. If your child would like to bring along some toys to add to the childcare room, please do! Also, if you are planning to come with children to the course, PLEASE email mbethwilliams@gmail.com with the ages of your children. There are numerous fun activities for children on site such as playgrounds, obstacle courses, and a maze.
6. Where should I stay if I have kids?
You can choose to stay with your kids in a 2 person hotel room or in
the dorm cabin. Parents staying in a 2 person hotel room with kids
pay a discounted price on the hotel. For your child, you will pay only
for the meals.
7. How can I help?
If you would like to volunteer at the course, send an email to texascourse2010@gmail.com and we'll let you know how you can help. Many thanks!
7. Is there internet access?
Yes, there is free wireless internet covering almost the entire course site. There is also a comptuer to use in the lobby.
9. How do I get to the course?
See our location and directions page.
10. Is there free parking?
Yes.
11. Are there quiet housing options?
There is an option for a quiet dorm cabin.
12. Where can I find out more information about the venue and see pictures of how beautiful it is?

13. What if I only want to attend part of the course?
If you are not staying for the entire course, the only housing option
is the dorm cabin. When you register, you will pay by the number of
nights you will be sleeping at the venue.
