Heartland Retreat Center – HRC | Wisconsin, USA
The Heartland Retreat Center, situated in the rolling hills of the driftless area of Wisconsin, is centrally located amongst the Diamond Way Buddhist Centers of the Heartland region. Along with its 84 acres of pristine landscape, it is surrounded by natural beauty. The Kickapoo River, Wildcat Mountain State Park, and the vast Kickapoo Valley Reserve are each only a few minutes away.
The HRC is regularly active, with couples living on site and friends traveling to it most weekends. One of Lama Ole’s initial statements about the place, “Thank you for your wide range of activities,” rings true. People gather for meditation practice, lectures, physical and mental work together. The qualities of many friends are highlighted and happily enacted to support collectively ripening conditions for the dharma to flourish.
