Diamond Way Buddhist Group Colorado Springs is part of an international network of more than 500 meditation centers and groups in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The centers were founded and are directed by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. They are now under the spiritual guidance of H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Thaye Dorje. In the United States there are 35 centers and groups. They operate under Diamond Way Buddhist Centers USA, which is a non-profit religious organization.

We offer free public meditations on Mondays, 8pm at the Center [1176 Whistler Hollow Drive] and Thursdays, 7:30pm at Yoga Imaging Studio [324 N. Nevada Avenue]. All meditations are preceded by a 10-minute introduction to Buddhism. Our main practice is the Guru Yoga meditation on the 16th Karmapa. This meditation is guided in English and involves visualization and mantra recitation, allowing space, clarity and joy to naturally arise.

There is a relaxed social atmosphere in the center, refreshments are provided, and questions are encouraged. These weekly meditation evenings are free of charge; there are no prerequisites and beginners are welcome. We have a selection of books, meditation booklets, audio/video tapes and DVDs in our Dharma Shop.
