Accommodations

You will have the option to reserve accommodations when you register. Housing is available at the University Center, a residence dormitory located six blocks from the Cultural Center and in the heart of the Chicago Loop. Rooms are $75 per person per day and include one meal per day. Please do not contact the University Center directly; all registration takes place through this website. You must register for housing by Monday May 14th.

The rooms have two extra-long twin beds per room; rooms share a bathroom with the adjacent room for a total of four people per bathroom. Pictures of the rooms are available. All units are fully furnished and include rearrangeable beds, desk and chair, bookcase, and closet with organizer. Sheets, pillow, pillowcase, blanket, and towel are provided. All units offer internet access and free local calls.

Housing includes use of the building's recreation area and fitness center, outdoor terrace, and dining area. Guests will have the added benefit of access to kitchen areas and laundry facilities. The cost of $75/day include one all-you-can-eat meal in a well apportioned dining hall. The mealtimes are:

Check-in is available after 3 pm and may be possible earlier. Early arrivals can store luggage at the University Center. Guests should check-in to the University Center before going to the lectures as there is no safe luggage storage at the lectures. After check-in, entrance to the University Center is by security card; additional guests are not allowed in the building except by special arrangement. There will be no accommodation possible at the Chicago DWB Center itself.

It is possible to walk about one half mile to the Saturday and Sunday course location at Chicago Cultural Center from the University Center. Maps are available online and will be provided at check-in. Frequent bus and subway service is also available. Local amenities are plentiful and include shopping, dining, and tourist attractions such as the Art Institute of Chicago and Millenium Park.
