      "Any spiritual progress

      necessitates a wide

      framework of teachings

      and is only useful with

      the right guidance and

      a massive accumulation

      of good impressions as

      one's basis...

      A lama has only one

      role to fulfill: helping

      his students to find the

      fearless space that he

      himself has conquered,

      thus making them

      independent."

Message from Lama Ole Nydahl:

"Dear Users of our Diamond Way websites,

There has been a recent increase in mail from people who meditate

without having either the view from our books or the necessary

connection to one of the 415 Diamond Way Centers worldwide today.

As transmission is everything in our work, questions arising should

be answered and our experienced groups protect beginners from erring

on the way. For this reason, we have recently removed the meditations

from the Internet. They are not toys and being computer illiterate,

I had no idea the effect would be as it has been. All the best, and

you are welcome in our centers: they are well distributed across the

free countries of the world.

Your Lama Ole"

For an introduction to Diamond Way Buddhism, we recommend Lama Ole's book The Way Things Are: A Living Approach to Buddhism for Today's World. This clearly and concisely written book addresses basic questions such as: What is Buddhism today? How do Buddha's teachings utilize the potential of our full being? Through which practices may we experience mind as limitless space and bliss? How can one use daily joys and difficulties in one's job, family, or partnership for spiritual growth?

The Way Things Are is more than a Buddhist textbook. It is a living transmission of the Buddha's deep wisdom, given by a Western Buddhist Master, inviting the reader to experience the liberating and powerful methods of Tibetan Buddhism. The Way Things Are and other books by Lama Ole Nydahl are available at the Calgary Diamond Way Buddhist Center.
