Diamond Way Buddhist Centers consist of lay people who incorporate Diamond Way teachings and meditations into their daily lives. Members share responsibility for guiding meditations, answering questions and giving explanations about Buddhism. Their work is unpaid and based   on idealism and friendship.

The main practice in all our centers is Guru Yoga meditation on the 16th Karmapa. This meditation involves visualization and mantra recitation, allowing space, clarity and joy to naturally arise. It usually lasts around 30 minutes. There is a relaxed social atmosphere in the centers, refreshments are provided and questions encouraged. Other activities include group readings, teachings and dharma video viewings. These weekly meditation evenings are open to the public and free of charge.

Diamond Way centers work together to organize retreats, lectures and workshops throughout the year. Lama Ole Nydahl gives annual retreats in North America on Phowa, Mahamudra and Ngondro practices. In addition, travelling lay teachers frequently visit our centers to provide explanations and practical examples, bringing dharma teachings to life.

Lama Ole Nydahl is one of very few Westerners who is fully qualified as a Lama and meditation teacher in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. In 1969, he and his wife Hannah became the first Western students of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, one of the greatest yogis of the 20th century and the head of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Karmapa asked Hannah and Ole to help bring Tibetan Buddhism to the West. For over 30 years now, they have been travelling non-stop, teaching and setting up meditation centers around the world.

Lama Ole is one of the best known Western teachers of Buddhism in the world today. His energetic, joyful style is direct and engaging. His ability to make Vajrayana Buddhist teachings accessible to ordinary people from all walks of life is remarkable. The goal of his activity is the development of clarity and independence in his students.
