May 19 & 20, Statue & Thangka Exhibition

DWBC of Austin is a meditation center in the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhism is a visually rich tradition which incorporates Buddha statues and paintings (Thangkhas) to aid in the practice of meditation. We have gathered statues and paintings from centers around the USA and will lead guided tours explaining the symbolism, history, and significance of the many Buddha forms.

Meditate with us!

  • Our Guru Yoga meditation involves focusing on a Buddha form and mantra recitation. It is free, we guide it in English, it doesn't require any special clothes, and doesn't involve any complex rituals. It takes about half an hour, every Wednesday and Sunday at 7pm at our center.

Our Student Group at UT meets on Tuesdays at 7pm on campus.
