Americas Course 2019
21 - 24 February
Costa Rica

Ready for round 6 of the annual historic Americas Course?! This year it takes place for the first time in Costa Rica in Central America - where the Americas connect.

Here is some general information about the course.

• The price of the course is $150 USD (basic) or $180 USD (surplus). The price depends on what you want to or can contribute, and includes: program from 21 to 24 February 2019, meals from dinner on the 21st to the lunch on the 24th, space for your tent, and access to bathroom and shower facilities.

• The place where the course will be held is called "Quinta El Rincon de Esteban," and is in La Guácima de Alajuela, a few minutes from Juan Santamaria Airport. It is easily accessible by taxi or Uber. More details on the Transportation page.

Camping is the main accommodation for this course. Each person must bring their own tent. If you prefer to stay at a nearby hotel, you can arrange it on your own and pay the additional cost.  More details on the Accommodation page.

• On site there are very few rooms, so medical conditions (back problems or others) will be given priority. You can write to ac@diamondway.org to ask about this option.

• If you choose to arrive a few days early or stay a few days later, there is a possibility (with limited capacity) to stay in the Buddhist center in Barrio Escalante, San Jose, about 60-90 minutes from the place where the course will be held. Helpers for putting on the course are most welcome. Write to ac@diamondway.org to see if there is space and how you might be able to help out. If the center is full, try Trip Advisor for some options nearby.

• The temperature during February (normally dry season) at the site is around 19ºC at night and 30ºC in daytime (66ºF to 86ºF). Is recommended to check the weather forecasts in "La Guácima de Alajuela" before coming to pack according to the climate of the site.
